Cognac production in Zakarpattia began in 1959. At the distillation workshop in the village of Velyki Lazy, the first batch of cognac spirit was produced and laid down for aging in oak barrels, and in 1962 the first cognac “Three Stars” was released.
In March 1961, the Velyki Lazy division of the distillery was reorganized into the Zakarpattia Cognac Combine.
The production facilities were located in unsuitable premises; therefore, between 1967 and 1970, two aging warehouses for cognac spirits, a cognac blending workshop, and a distillation unit were built in Uzhhorod, and production was fully relocated there.
In 1977, the enterprise was renamed the Uzhhorod Cognac Factory. The impeccable quality, unique aroma, and refined taste of Uzhhorod cognacs earned recognition from specialists, true connoisseurs, and consumers in Ukraine and abroad.
Today, the Uzhhorod Cognac Factory specializes in producing cognacs aged from 3 to 12 years, made from cognac spirits distilled from environmentally clean raw materials.
